Today is the day that marks the first day of the crazy busy Christmas season. I don't think I'm excited for a couple of reasons: 1- I'm broke and 99 cent store gifts are noticeably... well 99 cents. 2- I can't stand all of the cheer and lame-o songs on every station. If I didn't sound like a man when I sang I might be happier about it because then I'd sing along. 3- The only dressing up you can do is Holiday sweaters or santa hats. (yawn).
Isn't it funny how there is at least 24 days of build up. Tons of crazy shopping, wrapping gifts, keeping secrets, decorating, singing songs, smiling and being excited and the BAM! You wake up early.. say call/text/visit everyone you can to say MERRY CHRISTMAS or Happy Birthday Jesus and around 5p or 6p it's over. All of that commercialized crap is over in just a few short hours. It's just not worth all of the craziness. I would be stoked to wake up, eat a great breakfast, say Merry Christmas to the people I can't live without and that's it. I'm not even saying screw the gifts and crap because I'm broke (again) this year but because that's not what this should be about. I'm hoping that since most of the united states is nearly broke.. they'll realize what Christmas is really about.
Oh man... I bet santa can hone in on this blog and read this. He's totally passing up my place this year... dammit! Guess it's assorted nuts in my stocking this year... just like when I was a kid :)
